Maidenhead Boundary Walk

1 October 2017 (All day)

Organised by the Rotary Club of Maidenhead, this is a great walk following the old boundaries of Maidenhead town. The full route is 13 miles but you also have the choice of 7.75 miles, 6 miles or 2.5 miles.

The Maidenhead Boundary Walk is based on an ancient custom called Beating the bounds. Its roots go back to mediaeval times when parishes reaffirmed their boundaries by processing round them at Rogationtide, stopping to beat each boundary mark with wands and to pray for protection and blessings for the land. Today Maidenhead has grown beyond this but the boundary sounds are still there.

Dogs are welcome (and encouraged) for the 13 mile walk.

There is a trophy available for the largest team - will you join us and help us win?!
