Goodbye Yvonne!

We are saying goodbye to our Events & Community Fundraiser, Yvonne

After 5 years as the Events and Community Fundraiser, Yvonne has decided the time is right to leave the charity. As some of you may be aware as well as working at the Centre, she runs a dog training/grooming business which is incredibly popular and needs more of Yvonne’s time. We are sure we will see her regularly for oxygen and at fundraising events.

We would like to thank Yvonne for all her hard work and the new ideas she has brought to the charity. We are sad to see her leave but fully understand and we wish her all the best in the future.

‘September is my final month at the Centre.  After nearly 5 years working at the Centre as Events & Community Fundraiser, I have decided that it is time for me to concentrate on my own business’s (Dogcology & Groomology). There are not enough hours in the day for me to continue as I am! Something has to give!

This was not an easy decision to make but this doesn’t mean goodbye as I will still be attending the Centre going forward as a member.

I first visited the Centre as member in 2007 attending my first oxygen session in February 2008 after being diagnosed with MS Christmas 2007. A few years later I sat on the board of trustees and shortly after became Chairman, well (woman) for a very short period of time after being offered the fundraising position.

The centre has been a real passion for me over the last 14 years and I cannot tell you how delighted I was at being offered the position in the fundraising department.

It has been a real privilege to work with Pip and the team, members, volunteers, and therapists. The position has given me the opportunity to meet some wonderful people, attend some amazing events and even take part in some myself, such as 10,000 feet sky diving! Amazing.

My most memorable of all was having the honour of meeting Her Majesty, The Queen. A very proud moment for me, one I will never forget.

Again, this is not goodbye as I will be attending the Centre for oxygen and also continuing to help out with events and fundraising when I can. I will also be popping in to have my “Colby fix and Colby cuddles”!

You are all wonderful people, see you soon

Lots of love

Yvonne xxxx’
