Our next Relaxation and Mindfulness class starts on Tuesday 9 June
Are you feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed?
Join our next Online Relaxation and Mindfulness Class starting on Tuesday 9 June at 10.30am, led by our counsellor Leigh.
A lot of people are understandably struggling right now. It’s week 11 of lockdown and the uncertainty grows as to when, or even if, we can return to normal life. During this difficult time, we are having to spend a lot of time in isolation which gives our minds far too much time to dwell on, or create, problems. This is the perfect breeding ground for our anxieties and fears. And as I’m sure you’re aware anxiety, fear and stress can aggravate your MS symptoms.
Learning to take back control over your body and mind, or at least your reaction to them, using mindfulness and relaxation techniques could be the answer. These simple techniques can be learned in a matter of minutes and then easily practised in your own home. Noticeable changes to the way you feel can be gained in as little as 10 minutes a day. The techniques are based on ancient wisdom and have in recent times become popular again because they can help bring you contentment and peace of mind.
After the recent success of our first online relaxation and mindfulness class we are offering a new longer 6-week course starting on Tuesday 9 June. The new format will give you plenty of time to learn the different techniques. Whether this is your first time delving into mindfulness or you have attended a class before, it will allow you to feel confident to go on practising on your own. One size doesn’t fit all so the classes guide you through a range of techniques to suit different personalities and needs. By the end of the course you will be able to build your own personal relaxation/mindfulness practice drawing on the techniques that work best for you.
