Our team rode a magnificent 100 miles on Sunday 29 May
We’d like to say a huge well done to our intrepid team of three riders who completed the 100 mile RideLondon cycle event on Sunday 29 May in aid of the Centre.
They set off from Victoria Embankment then cycled a very impressive 100 miles through the Essex countryside, before finishing to a rapturous reception on Tower Bridge.
Father and son John and Phil Rushton (pictured at the finish line), completed the ride together, as John’s wife attends the Centre. John said, ‘We were lucky on the day for weather, a bit cool but minimal rain and managed to come in just under 6 hours. After 75 miles the leg pain set in but I kept going for the Centre. For me, it was pretty painful in the last 20 miles but I reckon Phil was up for another 100!’
Long time supporter Esther Winstone also completed RideLondon for us and between the three riders, they raised nearly £1500, an amazing amount.
A massive thank you to them all for their efforts. It is greatly appreciated and we hope their legs have now recovered!
If you or anyone you know are interested in taking on any challenge to raise money for the Centre, please contact Kim on kim@bmstc.org or call 0118 9016000. She’d love to hear from you!
