We believe that wellbeing is a big part of good health. Many people find complementary therapies very beneficial and help to manage their symptoms.

As with all treatments, the benefits vary from person to person so try them and see what they can do for you. As well as treating individual symptoms, complementary therapies help lower stress which may be a trigger for relapses and therefore is an important part of managing MS.

What do we offer?

Acupuncture – Acupuncture is the ancient Chinese treatment of using very fine needles at key points to “balance” the body. Acupuncture is a safe therapy that many find beneficial and very relaxing. Don’t worry, it is not painful. You will feel a little pinch on the skin when the needle is inserted before a dull ache for a few moments which will stop when the needle is removed. Acupuncture appointments are with our therapist Ron.

Reiki – Reiki is a treatment from Japan that uses life force to bring balance to your body. During this relaxing treatment, you either sit or lie down as our therapist lays her hands on or just above you to channel energy. You stay fully clothed and it is suitable for everyone. Reiki appointments are with our therapist Sarah.

Spinal reflexology – Not to be confused by reflexology on the feet! This treatment works by gently releasing the muscles around the spine, neck and pelvis feeling like a gentle massage. You remain fully clothed. It is incredibly relaxing and a very popular therapy offered at the Centre. Spinal reflexology appointments are with our therapist Sarah.
