Our current Thursday morning receptionist Jude has decided to step down after August. We would like to thank her so much for volunteering for us, her support has been greatly appreciated.
We are now looking for a volunteer to be our new Thursday morning receptionist starting at the beginning of September – could you be the right person for the role?
The hours are 9.30am to 12.30pm or 10am to 1pm, whatever suits you better.
The role of receptionist involves;
- answering the phone and directing calls/taking messages as appropriate
- providing a professional and confidential reception service to people coming to the Centre in person
- receiving and administering donations and reconciling the cash sheet at the end of the shift
- assisting with general administrative tasks
- giving general information about the Centre and our services to callers and visitors
It is a key role as the receptionist is often the first point of contact for members and visitors when they come to the Centre and a friendly face is so important. No particular qualifications are needed and full training and ongoing support will be given. This is a lovely sociable volunteer role in a friendly Centre, with the potential to make a real difference.
If you are interested, please contact our Membership and Volunteer Support Officer Nikki on nikki@bmstc.org and she will reply to you when she returns from annual leave. Feel free to spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested in this volunteering opportunity.
