Emily conquers the Oxford Half Marathon

October 17, 2025 | Pippa Vincent-Cooke

Congratulations to Emily Wakeford and her Dad who completed the Oxford Half Marathon on Sunday 12 October and raised £656 for the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre.

Emily is a physiotherapy student in Oxford and spent one of her placements at the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre. She explained on her JustGiving page why fundraising for the Centre was so important to her:

‘I am a 3rd year physiotherapy student and I had the privilege of doing my first placement at BMSTC. During my six weeks I saw first-hand and heard from the members themselves the difference this Centre makes. The dedication from the staff, the welcoming environment and the resilience of the members inspired me every day. My time here has stayed with me ever since, hence why I am fundraising. Even five months later feeling so grateful even to be able to provide just a little bit of help back to them after how much they helped me and continue to help everyone who comes through those doors.’

Emily did a great job and told us afterwards:

‘We ran it in 2 hours 30 minutes, injuries started playing up in the last 5k for both of us which was really annoying but it was a painfully good experience’

Thank you very much Emily, not only for your hard work during your placement but also raising much needed funds for the Centre.
