Free advice events for unpaid carers – 20 November

There are a number of free events taking place for carers on Thursday 20 November as part of Carers Rights Day, helping people access vital services. 

Earley and Wokingham events

Organised by the Wokingham Carers Partnership, the day will feature two key events, offering expert advice, legal guidance and employment support. 

The morning session will take place on Thursday 20 November at Radstock Community Centre in Earley from 10.15am to 1.30pm, featuring a series of information talks: 

  • 10.30am – Age UK Berkshire on household support, benefits, and grants
  • 11.30am – THP Solicitors on legal advice and wills
  • 12.30pm – Wokingham Job Support Centre on employee rights and working life 

In the afternoon, carers can drop in at The Charity and Community Hub in Wokingham between 3.30pm and 6.30pm for advice and information. 

A wide range of local support organisations will be present, including Citizens Advice Wokingham, Berkshire Youth, Promise Inclusion and Age UK Berkshire. 

The events are free to attend and no prior booking is required for the afternoon session.

Thursday 20 November at Thatcham Rugby Club, Thatcham, RG18 3BN

  • 2pm to 5pm
  • 2.40pm legal presentation from Silver Line
  • 3.40pm Carers Rights talk from West Berkshire Council Adult Social Care
  • Information and advice stalls from various organisations, cakes and free parking.
