Last week, our Chair of Trustees Neil Dawkins and our oxygen operator Malcolm Cook were guests at the KAVS Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of the Centre being awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS.)
The King’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups in the UK. Equivalent to an MBE, it recognises outstanding work by volunteers supporting their communities. The award is given for life – only a small number of organisations across the country receive it each year and we were really proud to be one of 231 charities who were recognised in 2025.
We are so very glad that Neil and Malcolm were able to attend this special event on behalf of all our amazing volunteers. Thank you to all our volunteer team – the Centre couldn’t run without you!
