We are delighted to have been selected as one of the charities of the Year for Phyllis Court in Henley. As part of this they have asked us to support their fundraising activities and sell raffle tickets at some key events throughout the year and we are looking for volunteers to help with this.
The major event this year is the Phyllis Court events being held during the Henley Regatta. Although sadly not tickets to the actual Regatta itself, these events are held during Regatta week with our supporters being asked to help sell raffle tickets on each day for approximately two hours, and then be able to enjoy the grounds, food and drinks stands taking place.
We are looking for two people per session as the Phyillis Court team suggested this would be nice if you wanted to spend some time enjoying the event following your session. The date and times are as follows;
- Tuesday 30 June – 9.30am to 12.30pm
- Wednesday 1 July – 12.30pm to 3.30pm
- Thursday 2 July – 9.30am to 12.30pm
- Friday 3 July –12.30pm to 3.30pm
- Saturday 4 July – 9.30am to 12.30pm
- Sunday 5 July – 12.30pm to 3.30pm
Please note the following important information;
- Volunteers would have to sell raffle tickets with a member of the Phyillis Court Charity Committee, this would be outside, under a gazebo. We think you would be able to sit down. This is taking place on a grassed area and there are accessible portaloos on site.
- Due to the popularity of this event, there will be no parking available on site, with it suggested that volunteers could be dropped off and picked up or make use of public transport, with the train station in walkable distance.
- There is a pay car park opposite Phyillis Court at the Rugby Club, but again, this could be very busy during Regatta week.
- There is a dress code with ladies to wear summer dresses and men to wear jacket and tie and smart casual trousers – as if dressing for a garden party.
Can you help?
If you are able to help, please do speak to Jackie or email jackie@bmstc.org. It should be a lovely occasion and a great way to help Phyllis Court raise funds for the Centre.
