Neil Dawkins
Chair of Trustees
Neil is an active member of the Centre, benefitting from our online and in-person exercise classes. He is a qualified accountant with experience in insurance, investment banking and project management and supports our treasurer with the financial side of the charity. He recently joined a fundraising committee to help organise our Afternoon Tea. Neil lives in Marlow with his wife, has three grown-up children and loves sport and 80s music!
David Coe
Treasurer
David is a qualified accountant who spent his working life in the UK railway industry, including many years spent with the Railways Pension Fund investment team. At retirement he took on voluntary work, first as League of Friends treasurer at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, and subsequently with BMSTC. He enjoys spending time with his family (including six grandchildren), and travelling to new, as well as familiar, places.
Ashley Harrison
Company Secretary
Ashley became Company Secretary for the Centre in 2023. He is a solicitor who founded Harrisons Solicitors in 2003. The firm has grown significantly and now has three different offices across Reading. His role as senior partner is to ensure that they maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service while nurturing the staff to achieve their full potential. Ashley is married with two children and enjoys walking his dog and sailing.
Sue Brown
Trustee
Sue joined the Trustee Board in 2023. Her career began in the travel industry, before moving to medical supplies, gaining experience in business continuity, records management, data protection and ethics. Sue’s had MS for 25 years and hopes to use her varied work experience to help the Centre as much as she can. Sue has two grown up girls and still loves to travel, albeit with careful planning.
Gregg Burgess Salisbury
Trustee
Gregg joined the Trustee Board in 2023. He has a background in project management and has worked abroad and travelled extensively. He is currently working with Wokingham Borough Council on the future of social care. Gregg was diagnosed with MS in 2001 and has been a member at the Centre for over 20 years. He enjoys watching live music and comedy, as well as motor racing and MotoGP. He is also a Trustee of the Mobility Trust.
Imogen Fletcher
Trustee
Imogen is Head of Change and Transformation at Centrica and has a background in information security and IT; she is responsible for delivering programmes for Centrica in new business ventures. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, she is also co-chair of the company’s Diverse-Ability Network. Throughout her career, Imogen has strived to be a role model for other women, in particular women with medical conditions and disabilities
Rachel George
Trustee
Rachel joined the Trustee Board in August 2024 and will become our new Treasurer. She has held several senior financial management positions, predominantly in multinational companies within the IT sector. She brings experience in statutory accounting, compliance and auditing, forecasting and analysis, strategic thinking and process improvement. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys various creative hobbies such as woodturning and painting, as well as looking after her two rescue dogs.
Daniela Hanuskova
Trustee
Daniela joined the Trustee Board in mid-2023. Although trained as a teacher of German and Slovak languages and literature, Daniela pursued career in corporate law, governance and compliance since moving to the UK. Daniela loves outdoors and sports in general and, recognising that health is precious, spends as much time as possible dedicating to hiking, swimming, kickboxing, skiing and badminton
Ros Hatt
Trustee
Ros became a member of the Centre soon after her MS diagnosis in 2010, joining the Trustees Board in July 2023. She is keen to use her background in IT projects and change management to inform the planning, communication, and implementation of our new strategy. A creative individual, Ros makes silver jewellery, paints, writes the MSquared newsletter, creates websites and looks after the Centre shop.
Paul Shambrook
Trustee
Paul joined the Trustee Board in 2019. His wife has MS and attends the Centre. Paul has an IT network and infrastructure background and now specializes in IT modernization and cyber security. He leads on our IT needs, offering invaluable support and advice to staff and trustees alike. In 2020, he supported the charity when he got sponsored to grow a mullet!
Abigail Simmons
Trustee
Abigail joined the Trustee Board in November 2024. She spent many years in Adult Social Care, particularly in adult safeguarding, and collaborated with various organisations to protect adults’ rights to live safely, free from abuse and neglect. As a qualified Independent Mental Capacity Advocate, she is also committed to ensuring people’s rights and well-being are upheld. In her spare time Abigail enjoys art and creative activities, walking her small bossy dog Ted and reading.
Penny Tillson
Trustee
Penny joined the Trustee Board in 2019. Penny’s career started in biochemistry before moving into computing. She uses her considerable experience as a business analyst, project/programme manager and consultant to lead our strategic work, policies and procedures. Penny has MS and uses the Centre regularly. She loves the outdoors and whilst she has needed to adapt her pursuits she is outside as much as possible.
Nick Webb
Trustee
Nick was diagnosed with MS around 2006 and started regularly attending the Centre in 2019 after taking early retirement. Before retirement, he was an experienced senior manager in the food retail sector, background in supply chain, and programme/change management. He became a Trustee in 2023 to give something back to the Centre and keep his brain working!
