Like many charities, we are experiencing a challenging fundraising environment, alongside rising operational expenses due to increases in the cost of living. The Trustees and Management Team report that the Centre is under significant financial pressure. It costs approximately £700,000 per year to operate our Centre. There is increasing competition for funding. Donations we receive from our members are key, so action is urgently required. If you use the therapies, please reconsider the amount you donate, both by monthly standing orders/direct debits and donations made at the Centre.
Our expenditure has exceeded income for several months. We are taking steps to address this shortfall including reviewing membership fees and exploring new income streams. You will hear more about this, plus details about the costs for our services, over the coming weeks.
Your suggestions for reducing running costs, increasing donations or improving efficiency are welcome; please share ideas with Ros on ros@bmstc.org or leave a note with reception. The fundraising team are running a ‘Come and meet the team’. Please come and chat with them and share your ideas. You can find out more by clicking here.
Our priority is to continue delivering the care and support you benefit from. We understand the meaningful difference our services make for local people with MS.
We want and need to be here for as long as we are needed. To safeguard the future of the charity we need to find ways to increase our income and reduce some of our spending. We are confident that together we will get through this challenging time and I would like to thank you in advance for your help and support.
Warm regards,
Neil Dawkins
