Can you use your skills to support the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre?
We are looking for new people to join our trustee board – can you use your skills to help shape the future of our Centre? We are looking for people who have good judgement and can think strategically. We would especially be interested in hearing from people with experience in business, HR, fundraising, healthcare settings and law.
Our trustees currently meet monthly via Zoom. Between meetings, you’ll be expected to read papers and keep up-to-date with what’s going on in the organisation. You may take on other commitments such as overseeing specific projects or areas of work.
If you are interested, we want to hear from you. Please call our Centre Manager, Pip Vincent-Cooke, on 0118 901 6000 or email pippa@bmstc.org for more information and to chat about the role.
What does being a trustee involve?
Trustees oversee everything a charity does, from setting its strategy to being responsible for its work and finances. The day-to-day operations of the Centre are delegated to staff and the trustees play a vital role in ensuring the direction the charity is heading.
They’re volunteers with big responsibilities but being a trustee is a rewarding way to make a difference. As a trustee you’ll develop new skills and experience while contributing your ideas and knowledge to an organisation.
Some trustees need professional expertise, such as in finance, fundraising or IT, but you don’t need to be a specialist to be valuable. Fresh perspective, commitment and some common sense are some of the most valuable things a trustee can bring.
