Your Centre needs you!
Breaking happy, exciting news …..
On Friday 17 September we are holding our first bucket collection since Covid began! This will be at Reading Train Station.
In usual times this is one of our best-collecting venues. After an 18-month hiatus, we are back. Things may be quite different, but we are excited – let’s see how we get on. We are looking for volunteers who will give us 2 hours, can you help? (If you can’t make the Reading Station, read on for information about our virtual bucket collection on the same day!)
If you have 2 hours to spare and fancy collecting, please get in touch. We have an urgent need for people between 9am and 1pm. It is good fun at Reading Station as the people-watching is usually great. The staff are really friendly and often donate as well. If you haven’t collected and would like to join our happy band of collectors do let me know.
Most years our amazing collectors usually raise around £30,000. We have not been able to collect for the last 18 months losing about £50,000 of vital income. Your Centre needs your help.
Collecting is very straightforward, great fun and really worthwhile for the Centre. You stand/sit in an allotted place with a lovely yellow tabard on promoting our Centre. With your bucket, just smile nicely at people (they will sense this through your mask!) and hope they will donate.
Can’t make it but want to help? On the same day we are going to run a virtual bucket collection for people who want to donate but will not be at the station. Visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/msbucketcollection to make a donation and share with anyone who may want to donate. Work in an office? Why not take a physical bucket and hold a collection at work? With your employer’s permission of course!
We hope to raise £1550 which is the average we raise during our Reading Station collections – but we need your help!
