An update on Covid restrictions
Last week the Government announced they would be relaxing the ‘Plan B’ Covid restrictions.
The MS Society reacted with the following statement:
‘We’re deeply concerned about the Government’s announcement about restrictions being lifted in England on January 26. The announcement fails to mention people who are immunocompromised and less protected by vaccines, including some with MS. We’re deeply concerned removing all measures puts immunocompromised people at unnecessary increased risk. And we’re calling on the Health Secretary to make a statement to vulnerable people urgently, to address their concerns. Read more about the changes and we’ll continue to update as we get more details. We also have info on how to manage your risk: https://mssoc.uk/2Qpehrb’
If you have any questions or concerns, the MS Society Helpline is available on 0808 800 8000 or email helpline@mssociety.org.uk.
We are aware that the relaxing of the rules has had mixed reactions amongst our members; concern for some and delight for others. We are constantly reviewing our procedures and at the moment we will not be making any changes.
We will continue to take your temperature when you arrive, screens will be in place and masks are still needed. Please take a lateral flow test before coming to the Centre and if positive please follow the latest isolation guidance. The latest information can be found here.
Most of our therapies are running in person but some are more limited than before. Please find out more by clicking here. 99% of our members report feeling safe at the Centre but if you have any concerns please contact us.
We look forward to the day when we can fully reopen but continue to have the measures in place to keep our members, volunteers, staff and visitors as safe as possible.
