Time to say goodbye to Leigh, our counsellor.
Our counsellor Leigh has decided to leave the Centre and move onto a full-time post with the NHS. We want to thank him for all his brilliant work since he joined us, especially over the pandemic.
He has asked us to share this message with everyone.
‘After six enjoyable years working at the Centre, I am sad to announce that I will be leaving at the end of April.
From the moment I walked through the Centre’s door’s I was welcomed by the friendly community of members and staff. Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team and the opportunity to work closely with many of the members has been invaluable. I will leave moved by the courage, wisdom and humour I have seen while working with people facing the difficulties of living with MS.
I have been offered a job working for the NHS locally, so I’m not going far. I will stay in touch and once I’m settled, I will be back to visit. So, I may bump into you on one of these visits. If not, I wish you all the very best for the future.’
The photo is Leigh pictured with his Reading Half Marathon medal after running the 2019 race. We think the BMSTC running t-shirt suits him and we hope to see him again at one of our events.
We are currently looking for a replacement counsellor and will bring you more information when we have it.
