Your weekly update from the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre
Can you believe it has been two months since the Centre closed its doors? It seems like only yesterday but at the same time, a lifetime ago. This situation has pushed us to do things we never would have thought about – online Yoga, mindfulness courses, virtual coffee mornings to name a few. However, we appreciate how frustrating it is not to be able to come for your treatments.
On behalf of everyone at the Centre, I would like to thank you for your patience. We are following the latest updates and talking with Therapy Centres across the UK as we pave our way down this previously-untrodden path. It is too early to consider reopening at the moment but we are working hard behind the scenes to keep our Centre running and our members supported. The safety of our members, volunteers and staff will always remain our highest priority.
The lockdown may be slowly lifting but what does this mean for people with MS? The MS Trust have put together a web page explains the difference the new guidelines will make for people.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who continues to donate. We have seen several anonymous donations. If you click that box we do not receive your details at all but we thank you all the same. Please remember we are here to support the whole MS community, not just those who can donate. If you are not in a position to donate at the moment, please continue to use the services you need.
If you are in a position to donate or even fundraise, please consider contributing as we really need your help. The impact of this crisis is likely to be felt for years to come and its true impact will not be known for a long, long time. As always we are committed to provide long term support for our members, current and future. This is why we need your help.
There are many ways to give but if you can set up a regular monthly donation, this would help immensely. It will help us to predict our income meaning we can make better plans (and it has the added bonus of being cheaper for us to process). Of course, single donations are also very welcome. If you are a taxpayer and qualify please Gift Aid your donation as this means we can claim a further 25% on tax relief. You can set up a regular donation or make a single donation here. If you prefer to set up a standing order direct with your bank please get in touch so I can send you the details you need.
Above all, please stay safe and look after yourselves.
