Hello everyone! Well, who would have thought we would be where we are right now!
Hello everyone! Well, who would have thought we would be where we are right now! We all hope you are coping well. It is a very worrying time for everyone – our members, their families, our volunteers, our supporters and our team. The very time when we need to pull together but have to remain physically apart.
The situation continues to evolve and we will update you when we can. There are many unanswerable questions at the moment but rest assured we are doing what we can to find some answers.
We had hoped to keep the charity running from the Centre but with the current guidelines this is no longer possible. We are all working from home (it’s all very quiet here!) and we are adjusting to this the best we can. We may have some teething problems but we will overcome these.
Our team are doing their very best to contact our regular members by phone or email for a friendly chat and catchup. Our physiotherapy team will helping people to continue exercising at home. Our answer machine is on and regularly checked, feel free to leave us a message on 0118 901 6000 and we will get back to you as soon as possible. At the moment this is checked every day Monday – Friday but please be aware that if the government locks down further we may no longer be able to do this.
We have information and updates on Twitter, Facebook and right here on the Blog. We have just launched a new closed Facebook group where our members and volunteers can safely ‘meet’. So join us…but you will have to bring your own tea and biscuits!
This week many members have been in touch about their donations. A lot of people have told us they will continue to make the donations they would usually give when they come into the Centre and we are very grateful for your continued support.
Over the next few weeks and months we will be fighting for our survival and we are launching our emergency fundraising appeal. So far the government has not made special provision for charities. We are completely independent meaning we have to raise every penny we need to provide support and to prepare to reopen the Centre doors again when the time comes.
Some have told us they are concerned because they are no longer in a position to donate. If you find yourself in this position, please don’t worry. We understand. Please delete your standing order if you have one and we hope to have your support again in brighter days.
We want to stay in touch to make sure you are OK so our regular members can expect a phone call (it may be a hidden number) or an email soon. If you rather not hear from us just let us know. We want to stay in touch and look forward to talking to you soon.
Stay Safe. Stay Healthy. And Stay Home to Save Lives.
