Despite the rain coming back, several local water companies have recently announced hosepipe bans. This means you cannot use a hosepipe to do the following;
- Water a garden or plants
- Wash vehicles, paths, patios or windows
- Fill a swimming pool, paddling pool or hot tub
Thames Water have a hosepipe ban in the following postcodes; OX, GL, SN, RG4, RG8 and RG9
There is also a Southern Water hosepipe ban in Hampshire.
Exemptions
There are quite a few exemptions to hosepipe bans, with exact details available on each water company’s website.
Particularly, people who are registered disabled or on a water companies’ priority services register are exempt. Exemptions may also apply to Blue Badge holders. You can sign up for the Priority Services Register for Thames Water here.
