The Berkshire West CCG wants to hear what you think of its hydrotherapy service
Berkshire West CCG is running a 12-week public consultation (which started on 10 August), seeking views on the future provision of hydrotherapy services in Berkshire West.
Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) deliver NHS services in their locality. For the areas of Reading, West Berkshire and Wokingham, this comes under the Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Group (Berkshire West CCG).
The Berkshire West CCG commissions the hydrotherapy services provided at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The hydrotherapy services have been closed since March due to the pandemic but you may have used them previously with the MS Society Reading and Wokingham group or directly from the NHS.
You may recall that the hydrotherapy pool was saved from closure in 2017 after its survival was threatened. You can read the dossier arguing for it to stay open by clicking here and read the press statement from when it was saved after 3,000 people signed the petition here: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/campaigners-welcome-decision-save-hydrotherapy-service
