Important IT update – please read

June 11, 2025 | Pippa Vincent-Cooke

As you may recall, earlier this year we heard from our trustee, Penny, about the updates to our IT systems. We are pleased to bring you her latest update and some important information about future blogs.

Penny Tillson, Trustee and Beacon Migration Project Manager, brings us this update:

‘Good news regarding our replacement database, Beacon, a vital tool for supporting fundraising and running the Centre. The Beacon migration team (staff, trustees and third-party specialists) have worked very hard behind the scenes and their efforts have paid off as we are currently on target to ‘go live’ mid-June. This means we avoid the significant costs of renewing the current system – a huge win for BMSTC. By late summer, we can remove the old technology which in turn means we free up space in the building.’

Changes to future blogs

Once we go live with our new database, there will be some changes to the way we communicate with you. Emails encouraging you to visit Pip’s Blog will continue. They may look a little different and as we start using our new database, emails may go into your junk folder.

If this happens, please move the emails into your inbox and add to your ‘safe sender list’. On some apps you can mark an email as ‘Not Junk’.

If you have any queries, please speak to Claire or Sam or email ms@bmstc.org.
