The West Berkshire Wheelchair Service will no longer be delivered by the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT) after 14 August 2025. A new provider, AJM Healthcare, will take over the service from 15 August.
If you are a wheelchair service user covered by the West Berkshire Wheelchair Service area, you should have received a letter detailing this information but as a reminder, your wheelchair service will continue without interruption. All repair and maintenance plans will be transferred to AJM, alongside your clinical notes. Initially the service will continue to operate from the clinic at the Royal Berkshire Hospital but this will change to other suitable premises within the first few months of the new service.
If you are on the waiting list for this service, you do not need to reapply or contact AJM or your GP – you will automatically remain on the waiting list.
