We have a team of ten supporters who will be taking on the amazing challenge of running 26.2 miles on Sunday 27 April to raise funds for the Centre. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to them all and sharing their reasons for running for the Centre. We’re starting with Jenna, Lee and Annabelle;
Jenna
My name is Jenna, I’ve just turned 23 and am lucky enough to be running the London marathon for the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre.
Running the London Marathon has always been a total bucket list moment for me and running for a charity was part of the experience but I never knew how I’d pick which one. A close friend of ours is a regular at the Centre and has benefited massively from their incredible work so as soon as I heard they offered places I jumped at the opportunity!
I am so proud to be able to do this iconic event in aid of such an amazing charity and I am so excited for the day! I am so grateful for the opportunity and am doing this for all those at the Centre, will be thinking of you all the whole way around.

Lee
I’m a contractor from PHS and I collect non hazardous waste from the Centre every week. I was asked two years ago to run but I was already committed to another charity. I said I would run in two years time. I kept my word and here I am. I also know two people who have MS.
It is an honour to be asked by your customer to run and I get on very well with everyone at the Centre, not just the staff but the people who use the Centre too. This is my last marathon so I want to do the charity proud.

Annabelle
On Sunday 27April 2025, I will be taking on the biggest challenge of my life to date – running the London Marathon – for a fantastic local charity, the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre.
I am a Trustee of the John Sykes Foundation, which has supported the Centre in the past. In November 2024, I visited the Centre to learn more about its work and experience the oxygen chamber, and in doing so met some of their incredible service users (the true champions) in preparation for my big feat!
During my visit, I met people as young as 30 years old with MS as well as older people – anyone, you or me, could be diagnosed.

Cheer point Volunteers on Race Day
MS-UK has generously opened their post-race facilities to Team BMSTC. In return, if anyone would be willing to assist at their cheer points on the day for a few hours, it would be greatly appreciated. They are looking for support at mile 17 on the Isle of Dogs, mile 25 outside the Embankment Tube Station and towards the finish to guide runners towards the road crossing. If you are interested, please message tamzin@bmstc.org or Katie Waller at MS-UK direct at katie@ms-uk.org
