The Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire, Mr Andrew Try, presented certificates to 15 voluntary organisations from across Berkshire to recognise their achievement in being nominated for the King’s Award for Voluntary Service at an event held at Reading University on Thursday 14 August.
The King’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK. The award is equivalent to an MBE and is awarded for life. The Centre has been nominated for the King’s Award this year and we will find out on 14 November if we have been successful in receiving it.
Thank you to our member and nominator Val Gouby for attending this event on behalf of the Centre and receiving our certificate of nomination. It is wonderful even to be nominated for this Award and represents the amazing work done by all our volunteers.
