On Tuesday 14 January, we are excited to be able to offer a free Manual Handling training session for carers at the Centre. This will be offered by Michelle Morley who is an Occupational Therapist and a specialist Manual Handling trainer.
The session will explore moving and handling techniques and efficient postures to look after yourself and prevent injuries associated with caring duties. It will be an informal and friendly session and adaptable based on attendees’ needs. There will be a practical element to the training. The session is an opportunity to discuss any issues you may have with manual handling and discover ideas to use at home
The session will run from 1pm- 3pm (with a 20 minute break) on Tuesday 14 January and spaces are limited to six people per session. If there is a lot of interest we may be able to run a second session.
People attending the course are welcome to bring the person they care for to the Centre with them. There will be a volunteer in reception to help them if they need anything.
If you are interested or would like further details, please email nikki@bmstc.org or speak to Nikki or Anwen at the Centre.
