Meet our London Marathon Team – part one!

March 20, 2024 | Pippa Vincent-Cooke

We have a team of ten supporters who will be taking on the challenge of running 26.2 miles on Sunday 21 April to raise funds for the Centre. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to them all and sharing their reasons for running for the Centre. We’re starting with brothers-in-law Harrison and Ashley;

Ashley

My name is Ashley, I am 32 years old and live in Byfleet, Surrey with my wife, Georgia and 18 month old son, Theo. I am passionate about doing my bit for charity and aim to do at least one sponsored event each year, the London Marathon is my most challenging yet!

My mother in law was diagnosed with the life changing condition in 2009 and I am trying to raise awareness and crucial fundraising to support therapies and treatments only available at the Centre.

In my spare time, I love to spend time in the Lake District, travelling and baking, that one always gets people’s attention!

Harrison

I am running the London Marathon for a fantastic charity, the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre.

My mum has had MS since 2009 and feels the full effects of it every day. In January 2024 I made a visit to the Centre to meet their team and also test out their Oxygen therapy. The experience was great and it’s incredible to see what they’re doing with no funding from the NHS. The London Marathon is one of the biggest fundraising events for them so that they can continue with treatments and provide people with MS with a better day to day life.
