Meet our London Marathon team – part three!

April 3, 2024 | Pippa Vincent-Cooke

We have a team of ten supporters who will be taking on the challenge of running 26.2 miles on Sunday 21 April to raise funds for the Centre. This week, we would like you to introduce you to Eimear and Stefanie;

Eimear

Hello. My name is Eimear and I have been living in London for the past seven years. I consider myself to be quite a sporty person and every year I have seen the excitement around the London marathon and always dreamed of taking part. Never did I think, however, that I would find myself getting ready to do the marathon and I am delighted that it is for such a good cause that I will be undertaking this challenge.

I came to know of the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre through a friend and their mother who have received great support from this charity. The therapies they provide are truly life-changing and I hope to raise crucial awareness and funding to help the Centre continue to provide therapies and support for those with MS and their families. Getting to that finish line will be one of the greatest challenges I have faced, but with such a good cause to run for I have no doubt that myself and the other runners will conquer this marathon. London 2024, here we go!

Stefanie

My name is Steffi, I’m 27 years old and from a small town in Germany. I am excited to share my journey with you as I prepare to take on the incredible challenge of running the London Marathon.

Growing up, I witnessed the struggles my dad faced as he battled Multiple Sclerosis. MS is a challenging and unpredictable disease that affects the central nervous system, often causing symptoms such as fatigue, muscle weakness, and difficulty with coordination.  While there is no cure for MS yet, I could always see the positive benefits treatments like physical therapy would have . Despite the hurdles he faced, my dad remained an inspiration, displaying immense strength, courage, and resilience.

Seeing my dad’s unwavering determination, I was inspired to make a difference. I decided to channel my passion for running into a meaningful cause. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Your support means the world to me and countless others who rely on the services of the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre.
