An update about the Motability Scheme
Coronavirus is affecting many, if not, all areas of life including the Motability Scheme.
Some of our members have their cars via the Motability Scheme and they have needed to make some changes:
- £50 refund from your car insurance (less cars means less accidents so less payouts)
- an automatic 6 month extension if you are coming to the end of your lease
- unable to accept new orders aand they have been unable to update the 2020 prices (this should have occured in April). Their car search tool is not avaiable
- if you have COVID-19 related financial issues, you may be able to access an advance of the £600 Good Condition Bonus (GCB) which usually paid at the end of a lease. Please be aware this will mean you will not recieve it at the end. Many people use this money towards their next car.
