We have a new Online Chair-based Yoga class starting each Monday

A new Online Chair-based Yoga class is starting for people with MS every Monday. Each class will be 45 minutes long and is designed with the challenges of MS in mind. Chair-based Yoga provides many of the benefits of Yoga but it is practised sitting on a chair throughout the class. Yoga is an ancient discipline bringing together physical, mental and spiritual practices. It is designed to relax your mind and strengthen your body.

The main criteria for attending the Chair-based Yoga class is to be able to safely sit upright on a chair of your choosing and be able to move. We will use physical movement and gentle stretching, practised with awareness, to release tension and encourage relaxation. We mobilise some of the joints of the body and there is some strengthening work but we remain seated on our chair throughout. Yoga encourages us to become more aware of the body and the breath and the class ends with a short seated relaxation.
