Oxford Road will be closed between Bedford Road and Prospect Street on Friday 4 October 2024 from 6am to 11pm and all traffic will be diverted.
This is for works to complete the new bus lane on Oxford Road.
During the closure all Oxford Road bus services will be diverted as follows:
- Inbound Oxford Road serves 15,15a,16,17,43,85,88,91,93 will divert after Beresford Road via Western Elms Avenue , Tilehurst Road, Russell Street then back on normal route from Waylen Street.
- Outbound Journeys 15,15a,16,17,43,85,88,91,93 will divert via Russell Street, Tilehurst Road , Water Road and Groveland Road then back on normal route from Pond House bus stop on Oxford Road.
Please allow extra time for your journeys to the Centre on Friday if you usually use this section of the Oxford Road as Reading traffic is bound to be even worse than usual!
