BMSTC’s AGM will take place this year on Monday 28 September at the Centre. More details will follow nearer the time but put the date in your diary for now!
What is an AGM?
AGM stands for annual general meeting. The annual accounts and report are presented to show the charity’s income and expenditure and those present can vote on them. There is also the opportunity to vote for the Trustees, including the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. We’ve moved the date from June to September to hopefully avoid any heatwaves which affected the number of attendees last year.
Why should I come?
This is your chance to find out more about how the Centre is run, to discuss our future plans and to ask questions of the Trustees and staff. This is your Centre and we want you to feel a part of it and to help us celebrate our achievements. At last year’s AGM, we were very pleased to welcome a speaker from MS Trust and having had good feedback on her talk, we hope to find someone equally interesting for this year – watch this space!
The AGM is also a great chance to chat with fellow members, Trustees and staff over drinks and nibbles. Fingers crossed for a sunny day so we can mingle in the garden once the official business is over.
Who can come?
The AGM is open to everyone, including people who use the Centre, their families and friends, as well as supporters and fundraisers. If you want to vote during the AGM, you need to be a member of the Centre. Please check with Nikki at nikki@bmstc.org if you’re unsure if you’re a member. Membership costs just £24 a year.
Space is limited so nearer the time, we will ask you to book a space at the AGM so we can make sure we have enough room (and nibbles) for everyone who wants to come along. All relevant documentation such as the accounts summary, agenda and minutes of the last AGM will be made available prior to the meeting on our website and hard copies can be provided.
