The workplace and knowing your rights – MS-UK information session, Tuesday 11 March

This online session will focus on legal rights and working with MS, hosted by Rebecca Armstrong who is an expert in HR. She was diagnosed with MS in 2013 and now focuses on helping organisations embrace Equality and Diversity in their management practice.

The session will cover the most commonly asked about topics and give you the information you need for navigating difficult situations with your employers and ensure you have the right support in your workplace. These will include

  • The Equality Act 2010 and how it protects people with MS at work
  • What is a reasonable adjustment and how to get one?
  • Disclosure – do you need to tell your employer?
  • Sickness, absence and how it should be handled
  • Dealing with discriminatory behaviour at work
  • Leaving employment; a whistle-stop tour of unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, fair capability dismissal and medical retirement
