Your weekly update from BMSTC
What a week!
Just 7 days ago, we were monitoring Slough as it was put in the medium category and were waiting to see if the rest of our area would follow suit. Seven days later we are back in full lockdown. To find details of the changes, the BBC has put a good guide together: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-52530518. Whilst there is no formal instruction to shield, those who were shielding last are being advised to stay home except for medical appointments and for exercise. We look at this in more details here: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/new-lockdown-advice-those-who-were-shielding
This time places like our Centre are able to remain open and we will be continuing to provide those treatments we have restarted. Our full statement is here: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/bmstc-and-second-lockdown
We will be reviewing the situation and if the circumstances change, we may need to reconsider our position. If you do attend the Centre please be aware that to ensure good ventilation, the doors will remain open. As the weather turns colder, we suggest you make sure you dressed appropriately.
Our remote services will continue unaffected. Find out what we are offering here: https://www.bmstc.org/our-remote-services
Unfortunately, we have had further delays with our oxygen but we really hope we can get this solved ASAP. Read more here. https://www.bmstc.org/blog/oxygen-update-1
Our Fundraising Manager Sam also brings you a fundraising update here: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/fundraising-update
We would like to say thank you to our Trustees this Trustee Week. Every year they provide incredible support but this year has created new, bigger problems and they are providing brilliant oversight to our charity and ensure it’s smooth running. Find out more: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/trustee-week
Next week there is a Webcast about the latest research breakthroughs for people living with progressive MS and full details can be found here: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/webcast-about-latest-research-breakthroughs-people-living-progressive-ms
After some much information, we will leave you on a lighter note, if you are missing bonfire night this year. Alexandra Palace will be showing last years online tonight at 6pm. I saw these a few years back and they are spectacular. Check it out here: https://www.alexandrapalace.com/fireworks2020/#
Have a good week,
Pip and everyone at BMSTC
