Your weekly update
It has been a busy week ‘at’ the Centre.
I am sure you have seen that we have paused our in-person services after someone attending tested positive for Covid-19. We want to reassure everyone that our procedures have kept the chance of transmission to a minimum and that everyone who was potentially exposed has been contacted. I spoke to PHE on Monday and they were very satisfied with our approach. We really appreciate the lovely comments we have received from everyone.
Sadly from 00.01 on Saturday 19 December the rest of Berkshire will join Slough in Tier 3 (Very High Alert) restrictions as will Buckinghamshire and Surrey (except for Waverley) after a sharp increase in Covid cases. You can read more about what it means here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-3-very-high-alert
Our planning for 2021 continues. Leigh, our brilliant counsellor, will be running an online and mindfulness class in January. Click here to find out more about it.
Does Christmas put you under pressure? The MS Trust has put together some suggestions about how to manage stress at Christmas. We appreciate this year is likely to feel very different but it is still definitely worth a read: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/christmas-stress-and-ms
Our Festive Fun-draising hit a small bump in the road this week. With the Centre closing, the fundraising team has postponed the second half of the Advent Calendar Draw. The draw will be back in January but will be even better as there will be extra prizes to win. The deadline for the Christmas Outfit Competition has been extended until Tuesday 22 December. Thank you for all your entries – they have made us smile during a very difficult week. Find out more here: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/festive-fun-draising-update-18-december
This week the MS Society has issued a consensus statement which answers many questions about DMTs and the COVID-19 vaccine. You can find more information by clicking here.
Last week we shared our Christmas ‘closure’ dates. We have updated this so, if you attend any of our services, please have a read: https://www.bmstc.org/blog/centre-opening-hours-over-festive-period
Have a good, and safe, week!
