Two webinars about MS and work
Hosted by MS-UK and the MS Society, there are two webinars this month to help you navigate MS and the world of work.
From MS-UK:
The workplace and knowing your rights: Thursday 25 November at 7pm
This workshop will focus on employment law and highlight how to get better support in the workplace with your MS
The session will cover the most commonly asked questions about topics and give you the information you need for navigating difficult situations with your employers ensuring you have the right support in your workplace. These will include
- The Equality Act 2010 and how it protects people with MS at work
- What is a reasonable adjustment and how to get one?
- Disclosure; do you need to tell your employer?
- Sickness, absence and how it should be handled
- Dealing with discriminatory behaviour at work
- Leaving employment; a whistle-stop tour of unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, fair capability dismissal and medical retirement
If you can’t make the session live, they will be recording the presentation and will make it available to watch again for all those registering in advance. MS-UK have a suggested donation of £5 for this information session, but you can make a donation of your choosing from £1 to attend.

From the MS Society:
Employment and reasonable adjustments: Thursday 18 November at 7pm
Do you know what support might be available to you or your employer following your MS diagnosis while in employment?
Are you working from home or returning to your workplace and need access to reasonable adjustments? Or perhaps you’re wondering how your energy levels will be if you’re returning to the daily commute and whether you’ll be able to manage?
Whatever your question about employment and reasonable adjustments, they can help! Join our webinar, where our panel of experts will be discussing these, and many other questions that the MS community has asked.
They will be joined by a panel of experts including Steve Hall, Solicitor and MS legal officer at the Disability Law Service. They will also be joined by Laura Bosworth founder and director of Worket, with a background in specialist inclusive hiring practices and employer branding. The panel will also have volunteers with various work backgrounds from teachers to human resources.
